wearing; Alexander Wang blazer, TopShop dress, Dr Martens boots
I don't think the TopShop dress will survive another round in the laundry... the lining of the dress is all stretched out and makes the dress twist and turn when wearing it. Actually all my dresses and tops made out of stretchy lace fabrics tend to loose their shape after a while.. does that happen only to me?
I still really like the color though, it's a pastel lilac and the color was the reason why I wore it anyway.. feeling lilac+white+black lately!
I actually don't know what to write but for me it was pretty amazing to see my own snout hanging in the Zara, I think maybe people expect me to act kind of "cool" and "unaffected" about it?
But the truth is that I grew up in a very small city in a very small country and when growing up in the middle of nowhere a lot of things seem impossible especially if you are not drop dead beautiful or drop dead smart but just normal? like getting a job in New York or getting interviewed for magazines and especially appear on a t-shirt in the Zara!
When I saw myself in the Zara I imagined myself being 17 again, I would not have believed it! I think what I want to say is that often when I was 17 I could only dream about things and felt discouraged because all these dreams deemed impossible because of where I lived and because who I was. I just want to say that I was wrong.. If I can be on a t-shirt coming from the middle of nowhere everyone can be! I think your dreams, whoever you are, wherever you are and whatever they are can come true! Never feel discouraged! xoxo
Really love the JC Night Walk but I feel I need to see them first on someone! and I would really like to know if they are easy to walk in! I'm also a bit hesitant about the "mary-jane" strap because I would like these maybe as simple as possible? but maybe that's just me?
But mostly my brain is spinning right now, can these shoes be embellished? I am so in love with the shape but would love to make them my own by doing a crazy DIY, to say crystallize them! So I hope there will be a nude/brown/white version of a material that I can sew on, glue on whatever!!
TokyoBanhBao wearing the JC de Castelbajac for Mellow Yellow Mickey Mouse flats on her blog. These just made me smile and I kind of really want them, they remind me of the Marc Jacobs mouse flats only these really stole my heart..
I think I spent every Sunday at least a hour browsing quietly through Carries blog, enjoying a cup of coffee while dreaming away by her beautiful photos!
Today I came across her post about photoshop actions and editing, in this post she added zip files for us to download with photoshop actions for vintage photo effects (very similar to my photos) and 'Bokeh' images to use as overlay layers to create glittery, flared effects.
So that just made my Sunday a whole lot more fun! I downloaded her "Bokeh" images and started playing with them with these photos being the result!
A little while ago I got to play model in a photoshoot for Monday March's Spring 2012 lookbook together with fashion bloggers Cindy, Anna and Mio and yesterday I finally received the much anticipated lookbook in the mail plus a gift bag full of goodies of the latest fall/winter collection and already a beautiful top from this collection!
The lookbook is a poster with on one side a big black and white print of us all together and on the other side a collage of all the different looks and outfits.
Everytime I look at the poster it really reminds me of the fun I had that day!!
Can you believe the leather bow dress is from h&m? I couldn't!!
It's an item from the (old) 2008 divided exclusive line.
It's funny how some season's h&m is really good while sometimes you can really speak of a bad year. In 2008 the problem with this dress was the empire waist which looked kind of out of balance with the current trends! So I just stocked the dress for a future season to come.
When shopping I often think about what the item will do in a few years. A certain timelessness makes clothing so much more interesting to me.
